Fuse beads, Perler, Hama: what’s the difference?

The short answer

“Fuse beads” is a general name for the material. Perler, Hama and Artkal are brands. A brand may offer several bead series, each with its own sizes, colors and compatible boards.

Keep these in mind

  • Read the brand and series together when choosing materials.
  • A Mini bead from one brand is not automatically the same size as another brand’s Mini bead.
  • A color code needs context: keep the brand and palette name with it.
